Browsing Product Categories

"I am looking for a ... Fridge Freezer"

If you are searching for a type of product, such as a fridge freezer or an LCD TV, we would suggest that you search via our Product Directory. Category browsing is similar to window shopping on the high street.

• The example below shows a typical user looking for a television, ideally an LCD TV but has no preference to brand or price.
  
  
  
  
  
  1) Firstly, you click on "Televisions" from the Home Page.
  
  
• When clicking into Televisions, you are shown several sub-categories, illustrated below.
  
  
  
  
  
  
• You then have a few options.
  
  2) If you decide you want to view all of the products within Televisions you can click on the 2 links: Show All Compared Products, or Show All Unique Products - clicking on the Compared Products link takes you to all of the Televisions that have price comparisons i.e. a TV that is for sale by more than 1 retailer.
  
  Alternatively, clicking on the Unique Products link takes you to TV's that are only available by 1 retailer and therefore have not been compared.

  - The second option is to select a Price Range within the Televisions category. Do this by choosing a range to the right of the screen (illustrated below shows the user searching all of Televisions within Price range of £755-1005)
  
  
  
  
  
  - The third option is the best choice for this user looking for an LCD TV, by choosing the LCD TV link. (illustrated below)
  
  
  
  
  
  3) The user is then sent to the Search Results showing all LCD TV's - click here to learn how to use our Search Results
  
  
  

Using the Product Search

"I am looking for a ... Samsung LE26R74BDX"

If you are searching for a product and know the model or manufacturer name, such as Samsung LE26R74BDX, then we suggest you use the Product Search. It also enables you to refine your search by using extra options (these are accessed by clicking the options text)

• The example below shows a typical user looking for a Samsung LE26R74BDX LCD Television.
  
  
  
  
  
  1) Type in Samsung LE26R74BDX into the PRODUCT text box. NB. Try not to add LCD TV to the search as this will affect your results.
  
  2) Next, you can either leave the category drop down to select All Categories or choose Electronics from the drop down.
  
  3) Next click "Investigate" - you will then run a search and look for the exact name and be returned with matching results (illustrated below)
  
  
  
  
  
  TIP: Most of our product names are based on Manufacturer / model name. If you are running a general keyword search such as LCD TV, always make sure you are searching the Description to get better results.
  
  
  
• The example below shows a more advanced user looking for an LCD TV, looking to spend no more than £800 and is only interested in the Samsung brand.
  
  
  
  
  
  1) Click on the More Options link on the right hand side to bring up the extra search options.
  
  
  2) Enter LCD TV into the Product box, 800 into the Price Max box, Samsung into the Brand box, and tick the Description box as you are entering a general product name (remember Product Name will more likely be a model or manufacturer name)
  
  
  3) Click "Investigate" to run the search, and find the results (illustrated below)
