This Recaro child safety seat is, quite frankly, a totally amazing bit of kit. You will know that Recaro make top of the range racing seats but we assumed that their kids seats were a licensing deal with some third party actually making them. Not a bit of it, Recaro make all their own seats and the one weve decided to feature, the Start, is constructed exactly like a real racing seat, with a full aluminium frame. No other kids seat is made like this. Most on the market are made from a moulded plastic carcass. This totally adjustable seat is suitable for kids from 9-36kg. As a rough guide, that means it should fit most children from 9 months to 12 years. Of course, safety is the prime concern and this seat has it all with a rigid headrest and additional side supports for comfort and extra protection. One of the neatest features of the seat, though, is that it has a built-in sound system in the headrest. This allows you to play stories or music to the child without it interfering with everybody else in the car. This seat is simply stunning. Its the best. Recaro, however, do recommend that for kids in the 9-18kg weight category up to about 5 years you should also use the optional impact cushion which provides additional protection. Recaro tell us that this is their most versatile seat in terms of fitting. It will fit nearly all cars but if, for whatever reason, it doesnt, we will take the seat back and refund you in full.
